It's emotional watching you show us a small part of the experience you're going through, with all your curiosity and vulnerability. Wishing you success with keeping your lovely locks and that the treatment isn't too harsh. It is cool (oh dear) that our health system cares about these things - your nursing team seems lovely.
I wish so much that I wasn’t learning all this because you’re going through it but you have such a talent for, despite it all, making it interesting. I knew about cold capping but had no idea how it operated. Everything crossed that it works xx
Hi Kate. I'm loving your updates (having just gone through the whole shitty process. The cold cap didn't work on me and I was practically bald (though I had a weave, so never saw the true horror). But OMG my hair has grown back fast - apparently the cold stops the poison getting to the follicles, and so even though I had the hair loss, they weren't as damaged as they would have been. x
I went to Lucinda Ellery (I don't recommend the ones outside London - you can have a weave even with 90% hair loss, and go swimming, wash hair etc). It worked till mine grew back about six months after treatment and now I just have a few extensions to even out the length.
Thanks so much for explaining your treatment so succinctly to us. This really helps demystify cancer treatment. Sending you healing vibes for your recovery ❤️🩹🥰 xx

Ah...thank you. Intrigued by how you can work a weave with a lot of hair loss?
